Hi, I'm Jodie 👋🏼

I was raised on a single income from immigrant and refugee parents. Growing up, money wasn't readily available and it was a source of constant stress in my family. The only thing I learned about money was to study hard, get a stable high paying job, and to save every dollar.

It wasn't until I first started university that I realised there was more to that - it was about building your financial literacy, adopting a healthy relationship with money, knowing how to manage your money, and finding ways to grow your wealth. But I didn't know where or how to start, or who I could speak to as money was an uncomfortable topic for many and financial advice was expensive and inaccessible for me.

This was the spark of brokefromboba - a place where I can share my journey and encourage conversations around financial wellbeing.
