How I spent over 3.7k in April 😱

2 min read

April has been a super spending money, especially compared to last month where I spent 7% more.

According to my spending dashboard, over 86% of my spending were on "needs", however there has been a lifestyle creep, where close to 14% were on "wants".

Most of my lifestyle creep comes from going back to the office to work, where I go out for lunch and catch up with friends after work. I also did some shopping and bought some new gym clothes as I've been going almost every single day and didn't have enough clothes in between washes to wear!

How I spent my money πŸ’Έ

Property was my biggest expense this month of around $2000.

Expenses that fell in this category include:

  • 🏠 Mortgage - $1,862

  • πŸ’‘ Utilities - $107.42

  • 🌐 Internet - $65.32

  • πŸ’Έ Mum's Spending - $400

  • πŸ‘Ÿ Mum's Gym - $40

  • 🌱 Soil for Mum's Plants - $12

Other Expenses

Other expenses I spent money on this month:

  • 🍽️ Eating Out - $369.88

  • 🩺 Insurance, Personal Training & Doctor - $372.26

  • πŸ›’ Groceries - $227

  • πŸšƒ Train Fare - $113.89

  • 🎁 Gifts & Presents - $69

  • πŸ›οΈ Shopping - $66

  • πŸ’– Personal Care - $60

  • 🎡 Subscriptions - $15

  • 🍿 Fun - $7.00

This month's spending has gone up quite a bit in comparison to last month, particularly on "wants".

Most of these "wants" attributed to eating out, and although most were with friends, a lot of it could've been cut out such as coffee and buying food when I'm at work instead of making my own.

Keeping this in mind, I'm hoping to have a quieter May so I can be healthier and save more money!
